The CPT Autopilot is a robust, self-contained, belt-driven wheel pilot designed for heavy-duty use on sail and power boats. CPT autopilots are simple, very strong, and bulletproof. Yes, it is not an intelligent, integrated design like Raymarine or Garmin. However, like a chisel and a hammer it always seems to work.
Heavy Duty & Powerful: Unlike many standard wheel pilots, the CPT is built to handle larger displacement boats (typically 30–50 ft and 10,000–40,000 lbs). It delivers significant torque to the wheel.
Simple Operation: It steers to a magnetic compass heading. It lacks fancy screens, making it an "analog" style device that is straightforward to use with a simple switch and adjustment knobs.
Quiet & Efficient: It is praised for its extremely quiet operation and low power consumption.
Waterproof Design: Built for immersion, it can withstand spray and waves in the cockpit
